Adoption Advocates International (AAI)

                                            ...we find families for children

AAI guides families on their adoption journey. We are committed to:

  • All children, with an emphasis on the most vulnerable children
  • Respect for diversity
  • A focus on ethics in adoption and child welfare
  • Teamwork and open communication

AAI was founded by Merrily Ripley in 1983 with a commitment to children worldwide. We operate in a personalized, flexible and resourceful manner with families of diverse backgrounds to make this possible. AAI also provides humanitarian and family preservation services to orphaned and vulnerable children who are not eligible for adoption.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to rising costs, AAI must reluctantly raise its foster/adopt program fee by $200 and international Adoption Services fee by $500. These new fees will begin on February 10. Anyone who begins the process, i.e. pays the application fee on or before the 10th, will be exempt.

DID YOU TRY FILLING OUT AN ON-LINE APPLICATION BETWEEN JANUARY 29 and FEBRUARY 4? Please call our toll free number 1 888 481 4775 to make sure that we were able to access it. Our WebMaster was working on some other glitches, which filtered out five applications which we were unable to receive. THANK YOU!

For the past two years, referrals of healthy toddlers and preschoolers in Thailand have been on hold. AAI was advised on December 27th that the government has now reopened the program to a small number of applicants in 2012. The process will take about three years. We invite you to check out this website's Thailand section. Please don't hesitate to e-mail or call with your questions.

We are now accepting applications for young (9 mos.+ at time of referral) Chinese BOYS! and girls with minor correctable special needs. Cleft lip and palate, minor heart issues, and limb deformities are most frequently seen. The timing is estimated to be 12 to 18 months. There are many, many older children, also, in need of homes, many without special needs.

AAI strives to operate in accordance with best practices that reflect the requirements of the Hague Convention and the Inter-country Adoption Act of 2000. Important information for adoptive parents about the Hague convention can be found at this link.

You will find the comment section on the Council on Accreditation website at this this link. Thank you for your consideration.
