The Grace Fund provides assistance to families who might not have the means to cover all the costs of adoption and who would like to adopt one of the children (or siblings) who seem to wait the longest for adoptive families. The fund will be used to reduce the agency fees paid by the family. Funds could be available for families adopting children designated by AAI as more difficult to place. These would include:
- Boys 10 and older or sibling groups of boys where the youngest is 6 or older
- Sibling groups of 3 or more
- Girls 12 and older (single or in sibling groups)
- Children (any age) with special needs (e.g. blind, deaf, HIV+ sibling)
"The Grace Fund allowed us to add two beautiful teenage daughters to our family. As soon as they arrived home, we knew their adoption was right for all of us. From that point forward, it has just gotten better!"

"When we accepted a referral for 4 Ethiopian siblings, we knew that the finances were going to be a challenge. As we assessed our resources we were greatly relieved to learn that we qualified for a Grace Fund grant. This grant allowed us to move forward with the adoption sooner than we would have without it. We are so grateful for this help in bringing home these amazing children!"
