About Adoption Advocates International(AAI)

AAI office Adoption Advocates International (AAI) is an experienced international adoption agency focusing on children from Ethiopia, China, Thailand, Ghana, and Washington State. AAI received its Hague Accreditation in February 2008. We are committed to processing each adoption with respect for the welfare of the child while providing emotional support and guidance for the adoptive parents.

AAI believes that prospective adoptive families should be treated with dignity and respect. They should be provided with detailed information on the process, fees, country of origin, and the child. Staff should be available to answer questions as completely as possible during the process.

AAI understands that many adopted children – and especially older children – will have unique challenges after placement. AAI remains available to adoptive families after the child is placed to provide support and referral services. AAI is in the process of developing more in depth post placement services for older children, and has instituted a grant fund to assist with the financial burdens of such services. AAI expects adoptive families to participate in post placement services with their local agency so that reports and information can be provided to the sending countries and agencies.

AAI is staffed by experienced people who have been involved in the processing of hundreds of adoptions.

In addition to providing adoption services, AAI believes that the agency – and adoptive parents – have a responsibility to help in the country of the origin of the children by providing supplies and financial assistance to assure that orphan children who may or may not be adopted are served.
